Luke 2:11
“Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Chúc Mừng Giáng Sinh (Merry Christmas in Vietnamese)

We were recently lamenting how Cambodia is beginning to fall prey to the commercialism of Christmas.  As nice as it is to see more lights around the city and hear Christmas music in the stores, it also comes with the overt message that the Joy of Christmas is found in pretty lights and extravagant gifts.  In the midst of all this, it has been a busy few weeks for the local leaders. There has been a lot of preparation for all the various Christmas services and outreaches held at both the New Hope Schools as well as the Hope Churches. We praise God that as we write this message on Christmas evening, all the programs have been completed. We are not happy because of a program, but rather that the message of the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ was shared over and over to many who have yet to know Him as their own personal Saviour. But we have faith that God is working. God is working in the hearts of those who heard the message and a seed has been planted. We also praise God that indeed many did pray to receive Jesus as their Saviour.
Please continue praying for these new believers. Pray especially for the local churches as they begin the hard work of following up and discipling these new believers.

Lastly we want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. We look forward to our continued partnership with you to reach the Vietnamese people of Cambodia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Blessings

David, Joyce, Jadon, Josiah and Elisabeth

  • Praise and Prayer
    • Pray for all those who have received Jesus as their personal saviour this past week during the Christmas outreaches.
    • Pray for the local churches, that God will lead them in the best ways to follow-up and care for these new believers.
    • Pray for the children, the majority come from non-Christian families and so attending church is not a possibility for many who prayed to receive Jesus.
